Robert Cray Band Entertains At Free Rochester Jazz Fest Show |

 6/20/2026 - Rochester, New York - I always watch for the Rochester International Jazz Festival lineup annoucements and this year Robert Cray Band was annouced as a one of the free shows and today was the day. I headed to downtown Rochester early and setup my lawn chair in the second row of the East & Chestnut Street Stage. It was a perfect night for a show and the crowd filled in quickly. The opening act for tonights free show was Nikki Hill who performed a good energetic set that was well received by the large crowd. The Robert Cray Band followed soon after playing a great set. They played Bouncin' Back, and other classics like Chicken In The Kitchen, You Move Me and Right Next Door (Because Of Me). The band was tight as usual with Cray on guitar and vocals, Dover Weinberg on the keys, Les Falconer on the drums and shoeless Richard Cousins anchoring on the bass guitar. They finished the show with Time Makes Two and Phone Booth. This was a great free show at the Rochester International Jazz Festival lets keep these good free acts coming. Slideshow | |
