Bills Ground Jets In Final Game Ever At Highmark Stadium

1/4/2026 - Orchard Park, New York - Today, we attended the last game to ever be played at Highmark Stadium (aka Rich Stadium, Ralph Wilson Stadium, New Era Field, Bills Stadium) with our Buffalo Bills taking on the New York Jets. We picked up tickets a couple days before the game on Ticketmaster and I managed to get an excellent ticket on the 25 yard line on the visitors side for less than cost. Dom and Liv picked up a couple cheap seats in the corner of the endzone. It was a cold day but the winds were calm, making it a perfect day for football. We headed up early for this game and were lucky to get a spot in a satellite lot on California Drive for fifty bucks. I headed in early and got my commemorative coin and toured around the stadium getting my last panoramic views from the upper deck and from lower endzone with Dom and Liv. I headed to my excellent seat and was surrounded by longtime season ticket holders who were feeling many emotions about the last game. I was seated next to a woman who was an original Buffalo Jill at Rich Stadium. The new Highmark Stadium stared at us as we watched our Bills destroy the hapless Jets by a score of 35-8. The pregame had owner Terry Pegula thanking fans, the Bills Legend's Thurman Thomas and Steve Tasker getting the crowd riled up with the Bills chants. Josh Allen was the last player introduced and there was an excellent helicopter flyover after the anthem. The Bills received the ball to open the game and Josh Allen took the first snap handing off to James Cook then running off the field with backup Mitch Trubisky taking over and absolutely destroying a bad Jets team throwing for four touchdowns and no interceptions with Ray Davis running for 151 yards to close out Highmark Stadium with an easy victory. At halftime, Bill's Alumni were on the field with Jim Kelly, Andre Reed and Eric Wood speaking to the crowd and a videotaped message from 100 year-old Marv Levy saying Where Else Would You Rather Be Than Right Here Right Now ? Fans stayed til the bitter end and celebrated the Bills home since 1973. So many years of great memories and some wild and crazy times with friends and family from The Rolling Stones to Dave Matthews Band to Elton John/Billy Joel, from Lou Saban to Marv Levy to Sean McDermott, from Joe Ferguson to Jim Kelly to Josh Allen, from tearing down the goalposts to the great Wildcard 32 point comeback game from Frank Reich, from OJ Simpson to Thurman Thomas to James Cook, from awesome pregame tailgates to winning AFC Championship games. It has been a great ride in this building, Thanks for the lifetime of memories Rich Stadium !!!!Slideshow
