8/20/2024 - Lewiston, New York - Today I headed West down NY Route 104 to Artpark in lovely Lewiston, New York, for a Tuesday show at the Artpark's Mainstage Theatre, to see for the third time this week one of my favorite touring bands, Tedeschi Trucks Band. I am getting my inner groupie on as this is the third time in a week attending a Tedeschi Trucks show seeing them in Toronto five days ago and Canandaigua four days ago. I bought two tickets the day they went on sale and got excellent tixs left center stage six rows back. I worked the full day and after headed to the show stopping in Lockport for a Pizza Oven dinner fix. Dom had to meet me there as he had to work also but we made it into the venue in plenty of time to get drinks and head to our excellent seats. The show started promptly at 7PM with Margo Price being the opener providing her conutry rock set. She even walked into the audience during one number and her set was well received by the sellout Artpark crowd. After a brief intermission, Tedeschi Trucks Band hit the stage and did a good set. They did their standard Anyhow and the Dylan Cover of Lord Protect My Child with Susan Tedeschi providing some nice lead guitar. They did some interesting covers including Prince's 1999 and Santana's Soul Sacrifice with Derek Trucks providing some tasty lead guitar. They did the required Derek & The Domino's cover with tonight's song being Keep On Growing. They closed the set with Bound for Glory. The band was tight as usual and Derek and Susan shared the lead almost equally on this night. They came out for a two song encore with Susan Tedeschi being joined by Margo Price for a Dylan cover of Don't Think Twice It's Alright and a great finale on Let's Go Get Stoned with Tedeschi Trucks Band being joined by all of Margo Price's band for an extended jam. Another great show.Slideshow |
