Stray Cats Rock This Town Of Lewiston, New York At Artpark

8/13/2024 - Lewiston, New York - When I heard Brian Setzer and his band the Stray Cats were coming to Artpark this season, I checked the calendar and jumped on a ticket right away. It was another gorgeous evening and I headed to Lewiston a little later than usual to encounter small waiting lines at Artpark. I was able to get my usual good spot and grab some food and enjoy the nice summer evening prior to the shows start. The opening act was a new band called Midnight Cowgirls who would be classified as Country Rock. They were all good looking blondes all dressed in black. They played an almost hour set that included originals and some covers. They sounded pretty good and did a nice cover of the Beatle's The Night Before. A good opening act for Sezter and the Stray Cats. After a brief intermission, the Stray Cats hit the stage and played a good set. The band was all the original members with Brain Setzer on guitar, Slim Jim Phantom on drums and Lee Rocker on bass. They played classics like Stray Cat Strut, Summertime Blues and a rocking cover of The Train Kept A-Rollin'. The band was good and the small crowd appeared to love the set. They finished the set asking Lewiston if they were ready to Rock This Town and they did ! They came out for a two song encore of Built for Speed and Rumble In Brighton. A good show on a gorgeous night at one of my favorite venues, Stray Cats rocked it.Slideshow
