10/20/2016 - Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Today, we headed to Rochester International Airport and caught a Delta Airlines flight heading to Fort Lauderdale Florida for our 2nd Annual Buffalo Bills versus Miami Dolphins getaway. We arrived to our corner room at the Courtyard Marriot at Fort Lauderdale Beach with gorgeous panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and causeway. The weather was great and we soaked in as much Florida sun as possible hanging on the beach and at the pool. The days started with nice breakfasts at the St Barts Café. The nights brought drinks and more food at some nice places like the Quarterdeck and Café Del Mar and drinks at the raucous Elbo Room bar on the beach at Fort Lauderdale. We took a drive and headed south down to South Beach in Miami and checked out the beautiful beach. We had a nice lunch at the News Café there. The main event finally arrived with the Rex Ryan's Buffalo Bills taking on the Adam Gase's Dolphins at newly remodeled Hard Rock Stadium. We were up early for the daily St Barts Café breakfast and then off to the stadium, where we had VIP parking thanks to Mike's friend. The tickets were excellent thirty rows up on the forty yard line on the Bills sunny side of the stadium. The Bills were pretty much dominated at both lines of scrimmage during the game but kept it close, even leading for most of the first half. It was Bill's QB Tyrod Taylor against Miami's Ryan Tannehill with both throwing for over 200 yards and a touchdown. Miami's running game led by Jay Ajayi running for 214 yards dominated and the defensive front four sacked Tyrod Taylor 4 times and shut down the Bills run game and proved to be too much for the Bills who lost 25-28. The next day we were back at the airports, plural airports thanks to Mikes keen sense of planning, catching planes back to Rochester and Buffalo. It was a great get away even though the Bills lost. We will be back... Slideshow |
