Maui Fun Continues with Whales, Beaches and Fun - Part II

4/9/2012 - Maui, Hawaii - The Maui adventure continued today in typical fashion with another perfect day which started with the relaxing daily early morning beach walk and an excellent Pacific Ocean rainbow view from our condo at Kaanapali Shores. We hopped in the car and decided to head east today thru Wailea to Makena Big Beach. This beach was excellent with golden sands, clear waters, and large waves to body surf in. Nicole went in and was not paying attention to the large waves and got crushed by a big one. At the moment it was not that funny but later we all had a good laugh about it, she was ok. We headed back to the condo for some swimming in the ocean front pool and hot tubbing and were greeted with another rainbow this time on the mountain side. We took in another relaxing Maui sunset and then went and played some shuffleboard and pickleball on the Kaanapali Shores courts. The next day we drove to Lahaina for our annual whale watch expedition with the Pacific Whale Foundation on their boat Ocean Discovery. Again it did not take long for us to encounter many whales as soon as we left the Lahaina harbor. We had a great time on this watch as usual which provided us with plenty of tails and closeup views of humpback whales that came right up to the boat and gorgeous panoramic views of the island of Maui. Definitely one of my personal favorite things to do in Maui. Much more Maui to come. 1 3 4 5Slideshow
